Founded in September 2025, 21 Million GB (Green Bombay) is a youth-led social initiative dedicated to bridging the critical gap between technology consumption and sustainable disposal. The project’s name is a reflection of its scope: tackling the physical residues of the massive digital footprint of Mumbai's 21 million residents (a play on "GB" for Gigabytes) and diverting it toward a circular, green economy.
The initiative operates at the intersection of community action, environmental education, and advocacy. We aim to democratize access to e-waste recycling by making it accessible, understandable, and actionable, particularly for underserved communities that are most vulnerable to the hazards of improper disposal. Through a multi-pronged approach combining physical collection drives, expert-led discourse, and the development of original educational resources, 21 Million GB strives to foster a culture of urban resilience and responsible consumption in the heart of Mumbai.
